The first step in the process for arranging a marriage in the Catholic Church, is for the couple to meet with the priest. During the first session, an initial form can be completed and the expectations on the couple explained.
For a marriage to be held in a Catholic church, many papers have to be completed. There is a Commonwealth Intention of Marriage Form, an Archdiocesan Form and if the marriage is between a Catholic and either a Non-Catholic or unbaptised, an additional form for the Archdiocese.
A minimum of three, preferably six months, should be given for the completion of the forms. The parish Priest of the parish the bride resides in is responsible for the completion of the forms. As well as the paperwork, there is an expectation that the couple will attend a Preparation Session before the wedding can be booked.
For information and bookings to celebrate your wedding at Regina Caeli, please contact the parish office. As it can take some time to complete the necessary legal and church application processes, we encourage you to contact us as early as possible before the wedding (preferably at least six months’ notice).
